Friday Art Instructor for Fall 2026- Contracted role

The Allied Arts Council of Pincher Creek is looking for a qualified instructor for our fall 2026 kid’s art program, with the hopes of finding an individual to offer these programs with us on a long term basis.

If you have a passion for child centred, process based art, have education experience focused on grades kindergarten to six, an open approach and value the social-emotional impact access to arts programs can have on a young persons life, we would love to talk to you!

This role would facilitate our Friday afternoon art classes on a contractual basis throughout the school year, approximately 4 hours per week on Friday afternoons, plus some hours budgeted annually for prep and classroom organization. The Friday art schedule is made to work alongside the regular school schedule, with a typical contract running alongside school terms ( September to December, January-June).

Above all in these programs we value a welcoming environment, experience and process over product, providing a space for kids to use their creative minds, connect with each other and explore all the supplies and potential creations our art room has to offer. A love of play is a real asset in this environment!

This role is funded in part by FCSS funding, based on the value of our program on social and emotional health of young people in our community.  FCSS support helps us provide our Friday art programs for a low cost in the community and ensure that all instructors are compensated and valued.

If you’re interested in learning more, please reach out to our Executive Director Kassandra Chancey by email HERE

Please note, any individual contracted to work with young people will be required to submit a vulnerable sector check and references.

The following video provides some insight into the goal and values surrounding our Friday art and other FCSS funded programs.

In the spirit of respect, reciprocity and truth, we honour and acknowledge Spiitsi and the traditional Treaty 7 Territory and the oral practices of the Blackfoot confederacy including the Piikani, Kainai, the Stoney-Nakoda, Siksika and Tsuut’ina nations. We acknowledge that this territory is home to the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 3 within the historical Northwest Métis homeland. We honour the true story of the land and its original inhabitants. We acknowledge all Nations – Indigenous and non – who live, work and play on this land, and who honour and celebrate this territory.
